Boomerang Pupils

What is the Boomerang Project?

At The Observatory School we are committed to providing extensive support to the pupils who leave us after Year 11. We have a designated telephone number available during school hours and our former pupils are then guided appropriately to staff within school or external services who can help.

Support available to our leavers:

  • Home visits
  • Help with applications forms
  • Visit's/ Transport to Training Providers and Colleges
  • Support with interview skills
  • Advice and guidance from our Career advisor.
  • EHPC and information pack

Some of our post 16 pupil's take the opportunity on offer to come into School to receive 1-1 mentoring in subjects such as Maths and English.

We are always delighted to receive visits from our former pupils whether it is for advice or just a friendly chat. We also encourage the maintaining of relationships with staff and pupils at The Observatory School with some former pupils acting as mentors and coaches to our current pupils.

Former Pupil Profiles

Please find a selection of former pupil profiles below highlighting some of the exciting and varied fields our former pupils enter after completing their education with us. We are adding profiles to this section all the time.

It's no accident how our curriculum is designed to equip our pupils with skills to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving economy. We designed it that way. Local businesses actively seek our pupils because we work with them to equip them with the key skills they need.

We are proud of our links with Faviely Transport and Liverpool Marina, two of of former pupils are currently completing apprenticeships with both companies!

Whether pupils go onto college, employment, apprenticeships or sixth form, the skills they learn with us equip them to compete with the very best talent from all the schools in the local area.

See our OFSTED good practice report for more details about our curriculum innovation.

If you are a former pupil and would like to submit a profile please contact the school office.

If you have any queries regarding our Boomerang project - please ask!
