Eco-Schools is a global programme engaging millions of children across 67 countries, making it the largest educational programme in the world.
For more than 20 years Eco-Schools has been empowering children to drive change and improve their environmental awareness through the same simple seven-step process that has been used successfully across the world.
Eco-Schools improves pupils’ skills, raises environmental awareness, improves the school environment and also creates financial savings for schools as well as a whole host of other benefits.
We have been awarded the Bronze Eco-School Award and are currently working hard to achieve the Silver Award by the end of this year. We have a dedicated Eco Team who work hard on environmental issues in the school. The team meet every half term to discuss their work.
Our Eco Team have completed an Environmental Review of the school and set actions about how to improve. Our first action has been to tackle litter in and around the boundary's of the school. We took part in 'The Big Clean' and even got a thank you letter from the chair of Friends of Bidston Hill to thank us for our work.
Our next steps are to work towards achieving the Silver Award. Our Eco Team Committee will decide what this will be in their next meeting.
