New Year New Wall

The staff would like to say thank you for your lovely Christmas cards and gifts. We all hope you had a lovely Christmas holiday .

2019 has got off to a good start at The Observatory School and it has been good to see so many of pupils making a big effort in their classes this week.

Year 11 have started their intervention program in preparation for their GCSE's which start in May. Pupils are using 3 or more of their reward sessions per week to have extra lessons with their subject teachers. We have all been very impressed with the dedication and commitment of our year 11's who have been working hard in these sessions all week.

It has been wonderful to see so many posts from Science this week. It has been a busy week in the lab and the pupils have also been enjoying Science Club at lunch times. Well done to everyone who has worked hard in Science this week.

In Art pupils are finalising their portfolios in preparation for receiving their exam papers next week. It is an exciting time in Art and we are all looking forward to seeing what imaginative creations our year 11's will produce for their exam work.

Well done to all those who have earned badges this week. 6 pupils have reached over 20 Star of the Day awards and have earned their yellow merit badges. Well done, this is an amazing achievement.

We welcomed Ashley to our school this week. She has already earned her first award badge, which is a fantastic achievement. Well done Ashley!

Upper school pupils completed a task for our Erasmus+ project CREACTION this week. They have produced some excellent posters about how to e safe on the internet. Our 6 pupils who have been selected to go to Finland will take the posters with them on their visit. It was also good to see our partner schools introductions on Twinspace and a good chance for our pupils to see who they will be meeting when they arrive in Finland.

Well done to everyone this week who has earned their place on the Wall of Fame. To view the wall please use the link below.
