School Closure 28/02/2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

You will recall my previous letter about the ongoing strike action from National Education Union members (NEU).

I have left making this decision, as long as possible, in the hope that the Government would resolve the issues with the union through discussion.

However, it seems unlikely that any agreement will be reached by Tuesday and therefore it is reasonable to plan for the strike going ahead.

As before, the strike action will significantly impact upon our school and the school will have to be closed to pupils on Tuesday the 28th of February. The only exception to this is for pupils who are due to attend one of the training providers, who, at this time, remain open.

As a school we regret any inconvenience this may cause, but we must respect that members of any professional association/union have the right to take this action following a legal ballot.

If you have any questions, please contact the school via the school office on Monday.

Please refer to the first letter for the future strike dates (after the 28th)- however, it would be prudent for you to plan for school closures on all the upcoming strike dates.

Best wishes,

Gregory Chiswell Headteacher
