On Friday 22nd April we held a whole school activity day called 'We Are All Different, We Are All the Same'. The days purpose was to teach our young people about diversity and also what it means to be a British citizen.
Diversity activities teach young people to respect and celebrate the differences in all people. Learning about different cultural aspects offers new experiences for pupils. It also helps them realise that we’re all humans, despite differences in how we look or dress, or what we eat or celebrate. Our day included music, dance, cooking, games and activities to offer a fun way for our young people to learn about differences and similarities among people and to introduce the concept of diversity. Our pupils explored all types of differences such as race, religion, language, traditions, and gender .
The day was a great success and formed part of our Erasmus project CREACTION. The photographs and videos will be used to show our partners our celebrations and also to show them about what it means to be British.
Thank you to Mrs Dowd for organising such a fantastic day! You can see our photographs in the Gallery section of our website.
