It has been another busy week at The Observatory School and we are delighted to share this weeks Wall of Fame with you.
Well done to the pupils who visited and volunteered at a local Care Home on Friday to make and write Christmas Cards for its residents. The residents were very grateful and enjoyed having Christmas Cards to give to their relatives. Reports from the visit were very positive and the pupils have been invited back again!
On Thursday we held our very own Pupil Elections. 5 pupils applied for the position via an application letter. The letters were very professional and the school council were impressed with the quality of each letter. Jack, Leon, Grace, Kyle and Macauley went head to head on Thursday for the position of Head Pupil. We set up a Polling Station in school to give our pupils the experience of voting and to understand the process of Elections. Most of the school took the opportunity to vote and took the process very seriously. On Friday morning we announced the successful candidates. The votes were very close with Kyle and Grace both leading the poll. Both candidates will have the position of Head of Upper School and Head of Lower School.
On Friday we held our annual Christmas Fair. The school council organised the fair with pupils working behind the stalls. It was a very successful afternoon with lots of smiley faces. Thank you to those that have helped out with organising the event.
It has also been a successful week in Art this week, especially with the GCSE Art pupils. They have been busy drawing from observation. You can see some examples of their work on this weeks wall.
Well done to Leon and Corey who both won awards at this year's LAC awards. You are both amazing and we are very proud of you!
Thank you to Braden in year 5 who donated some of his own construction toys to STEM club. It was a very kind gesture and one the club are very thankful for.
Well done to all of the pupils who have earned Star of the Day this week and especially to Jack, Leon, Grace, Macauley and Kyle who earned Star of the Week for their amazing confidence in applying for the Head Pupil role.
