The Observatory School holds special assembly reflecting on Queen’s life

Pupils demonstrated the upmost respect yesterday in school on what was a very sad day.

They took time in their PSHE lesson with their teachers and TAs to reflect on the Queen’s life and service. The pupils wrote messages and placed them on our mural of the Queen in the hall, we are all so proud of the respect they have shown.

Mr Chiswell and Seb gave a beautiful tribute to the Queen during our weekly whole school assembly. Seb from year 8, read out a prayer to the whole school which was very moving.

Staff in school wore black as an mark of respect. Reflecting on the day Mrs McGlynn (Gower) the deputy headteacher said, “I am very proud to a part of The Observatory community and yesterday I was incredibly proud of all our staff and pupils for the respect they demonstrated throughout the day.”
