Time to Celebrate at The Observatory School

A rather strange week in some ways with the bank holiday and then a return to normality. I have been treated to lots of invitations to classes this week from pupils showing me some of their excellent work – one of the best parts of my job!

It has been wonderful to hand out so many Headteacher Awards this week and the first of our enamel badges. Our pupils take pride in earning awards and it is delightful to see so many pupils going ‘over and above’.

This year we have implemented our new Relationships and Behaviour Policy. You can find the new policy on the website, if you would like to talk about this further with me please feel free to get in touch. I am available for messages on Dojo and I aim to reply as soon as I can.

We had a wonderful celebration assembly this week. There were so many examples of the fantastic work and effort from our pupils. You can view the Wall of Fame by using the PDF to the right of this text.

Well done to all pupils who earned Star of the Week this week. The pupils who earned this have worked hard throughout the week and their teachers have nominated them for the award. All were invited to have hot chocolate with Mr Chiswell in recognition of their achievement.

During our recent Inset Days, our teachers have been busy planning our new curriculum. There have been many exciting developments, which you will be able to view on our website shortly.

We know that parents being informed about the online world and discussing this with their children forms a key part in protecting younger generations from some of the pitfalls of the internet. CEOP is a magnificent website to support this and parents may wish to view https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/ parents/

Have a wonderful weekend and we all look forward to welcoming your child back on Monday.
