I hope you enjoyed a restful and relaxing break with friends and family and that 2022 brings you health and happiness – we are certainly looking forward to an exciting new year ahead, in school.

We return to school amidst continuing Covid difficulties and changing guidance. We had to make some alterations this week due to staff absence and we thank you all for your support with those changes. We will keep you up to date as we adapt to the different regulations. Despite these challenges we will be maintaining as much normality in school as possible and ensuring that the pupils still access high quality learning and enrichment experiences.

Lateral Flow Test and PCR Test Changes
As you may have heard on the news in the last few days, confirmatory PCR tests following a positive LFT test are to be temporarily suspended from Tuesday 11th January. This now means that anyone in your household who receives a positive LFT test result will be required to isolate immediately and will not need to book a PCR test at a local test center. All other members of your household may continue to go about their normal day to day routine such as work and attending school, but we do ask that your child take a LFT every day before coming to school whilst any member of your household who is positive isolates. If your child receives a positive LFT you must register the result on the Government website and then forward the confirmation email to school as normal.

Staff Update
I am very pleased to announce that Miss O’Sullivan had a healthy baby girl just before the Christmas break. Both Miss O’Sullivan and her little girl are doing very well. I am also very pleased to announce the arrival of Mr Woods baby girl! Mr Wood has said they are all doing well and he is enjoying spending some quality time with them.

Christmas
I would like to thank all of our families for their support with our Christmas celebrations. The pupils had a wonderful time and you can view the photographs in our gallery. We missed not being able to invite our families to the Christmas Fair and we are very grateful for all of the donations we received this year. The fair was a great success and the pupils really enjoyed taking part in all of the stalls. I would also like to thank the amazing Pat and Vicky who provided everyone with a delicious Christmas Dinner. We are still having lunches in classrooms due to restrictions, however our form teachers and teaching assistants made the dinner extra special by decorating their classrooms and having a ‘party’ afterwards.

New Year
This week we have been learning about New Year and what this means. In our assembly we have begun to understand what resolutions are and we have decided as a school to support some local and international charity groups as part of our fundraising across the year. The children have also made resolutions for themselves and their classes too.

Celebration Assembly
On Friday we held our weekly Celebration Assembly via Zoom and what a great assembly it was. It was great to see so many good examples of pupils achievements from across the school. You can view the Wall of Fame by using the following link Wall of Fame.
